There are only two reasons a non-seer would see a spirit on St. Mark’s Eve,” Neeve said. “Either you’re his true love . . . or you killed him.”
It is freezing in the churchyard, even before the dead arrive.
Every year, Blue Sargent stands next to her clairvoyant mother as the soon-to-be dead walk past. Blue herself never sees them—not until this year, when a boy emerges from the dark and speaks directly to her. His name is Gansey, and Blue soon discovers that he is a rich student at Aglionby, the local private school. Blue has a policy of staying away from Aglionby boys. Known as Raven Boys, they can only mean trouble. But Blue is drawn to Gansey, in a way she can’t entirely explain. He has it all—family money, good looks, devoted friends—but he’s looking for much more than that. He is on a quest that has encompassed three other Raven Boys: Adam, the scholarship student who resents all the privilege around him; Ronan, the fierce soul who ranges from anger to despair; and Noah, the taciturn watcher of the four, who notices many things but says very little.  For as long as she can remember, Blue has been warned that she will cause her true love to die. She never thought this would be a problem. But now, as her life becomes caught up in the strange and sinister world of the Raven Boys, she’s not so sure anymore.

This book was hyped by many people all over the bookstagram and booktube community. I have heard nothing but great things about this book. And it surely didnt dissapoint me and lived upto my every expectation.I have previously read the shiver trilogy by the same author and to be honest i wasnt much of a fan of it because i felt that it was kinda copy of Twilight.

But The Raven boys was completely different. The thing what i liked about this book most was the writing. I felt it was magical and mesmerizing. I was invested in all the chapters and the way different plot twists and stories were revealed was just mind-blowing. I  could feel my heart racing at the end of each chapter. The excitement i felt while reading this book was just unimaginable. I wanted to read this kind of book for a long time.

To be very honest i was little confused after reading the synopsis so i went completely into the book with a blank mind and i think it is the best way to start the book. The whole idea and concept of the book was mind-blowing and thrilling. The concept of the book gave me a lot of teenage vibes and made me feel like a teenager all over again. i am a sucker for  adventure and this book was perfect for me. It was able to give me the right amount of adventure and an adrenaline rush.

I think the book was magical and one of a kind. I was also deeply in love with each and every of the characters. But if i had to keep a favourite it will be Gansey. He is charming as well as mysterious. The bond he shares with his friends is emotional and filled with affection. The best part of the book was surely the characters and the way the author introduces them and reveal their past merging it with the future was one of the fantastic aspect of the book.
