Synopsis

“The Haters are coming to destroy all life on Earth. It is not a question of if, but when.

The Brahmaand has already rung the warning bell and the awakening of the Preservers has begun. Kiara unexpectedly finds her skin covered with golden fur and her sense of smell extraordinarily enhanced; Saumya is suddenly able to go from Ahmedabad to New York in just a step; and Sia’s songs have the power to do things she had never imagined possible.

First in the thrilling Shakti Trilogy set in contemporary India, Ashok Banker’s action-packed and brilliantly imagined Awaken introduces our unlikely heroes who must discover and harness their superpowers before they can protect and preserve the Earth from the wrath of a menacing alien invasion.”

The story revolves around three strong female characters – Sia, Saumya and Kiara. They all face have to face the stereotypical society but inside they are rebellious and want to break free from the shackles of the society which only ties them down and dictate them to behave in a particular way.

On top of that they start to discover their superpowers.

Writing

The writing style was amazing. I generally don’t read Indian authors but this book had a special power.

I was completely hooked to this book due to the writing. I found it absolutely flawless and his way of telling the story through his writing was beautiful!

I  absolutely loved the female characters. They were ao kick-ass and powerful. And super rebellious.

I liked how Mr. Banker used normal typical girls from different parts of Indi and made them QUEENS WITH SUPERPOWERS.
